Clayn Sonderegger

Graduated from BYU with a BS in Manufacturing Engineering in 1986. Started my aerospace career at Rockwell International in Anaheim, California and ended it at McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach in 1990 (I could not stand working for big companies and their politics). I got back into construction and eventually worked with The Irvine Company in Newport Beach until given a severance package in 2001. It then became a race between headhunters and buying/starting are own company. We visited 15 cities in the West and decided on Boise, Idaho. I became a partner in Benchmark Construction, Inc (a design/build commercial contractor) and bought the company out in 2004.

I married Laura Davenport from Bountiful, Utah in 1988 and we have three great children. Laura and I met on a grassy knoll at a singles ward family home evening in Irvine California. For 15 years we lived in Orange County and enjoyed the beach almost every Saturday.

The best part about Idaho for me is that we had a small farm for five years until we developed it and moved into our own subdivision. It has been nice, but I prefer small farm living.

We enjoy skiing in the winter, boating and camping in the summer. We still go back to California every summer to get our beach time.
