After graduation I prepared for and served an LDS mission in the Indianapolis, Indiana mission. Within just a few weeks after returning from my mission, Duane Woolsey helped line me up on a blind date with Marti Wiscombe of Mapleton, UT. Marti and I dated on and off throughout the spring and summer of 1983 and after 6 months she accepted my request for her to marry me. We were married in the South Jordan Temple March 9, 1984 and our life’s adventures together began. I completed an Associates of Science in Computer Science degree at UVCC (now UVU) and then went on to complete a BA in Computer Science at BYU. I began my carrier with Erudite Software, a consulting firm based out of South Jordan, UT. I worked with Erudite until the Y2K scare partially paralyzed the Software Consulting business at which time I was laid off. I then secured a contract for hire position at the Salt Lake City International Airport and am now enjoying my 8th year of employment at the Airport. Marti and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and have four exceptional children; Jamin, 23, Jarvis 21, Jailee 17, and Jori 13. Jamin, our oldest son was just married last week (April 9, 2009) and I guess that should trigger a feeling of old age but I still feel young; I guess when I gain the title of “Grandpa” then I can start feeling old. In the early years of my life I developed a skill in horseshoeing which has always been a great second source of income and during my college years was, for the most part, my main source of income. I have always enjoyed horses and light farming activities so my family and I now live in Lake Shore, UT and have 5 acres to play on. Marti and I are 4-H leaders in Lake Shore and host the kids in our club to ride in our arena to prepare for the 4-H horse shows that are scheduled throughout the summer. Our lives are running at “full throttle”, we never lack for something to do.
