Comments:

After attending BYU for a year then migrating north to University of Utah for, I attended University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School, where I received my physical therapy degree at in 1984. I worked in hospitals in Chicago and San Diego, then moved to the San Francisco Bay area and completed the Kaiser Hayward Physical Therapy Residency Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 1989. I practiced in San Francisco and Castro Valley for seven years. While in the Bay Area I married Brian Shoenberger. Seven months later Brian died.

In the Bay Area, then Chapel Hill, North Carolina; I practiced in my specialty area of orthopaedic manual physical therapy and taught continuing education courses for physical therapists. I was a co-founder of Synergistic Health Center in Chapel Hill. This multi-disciplinary integrative health center, which works with mind, body, spirit approaches to health, is still in operation today, although the name has changed. After 20 years of living all over the country, I thought skiing, mountain biking, beautiful places, family – maybe I’ll head back to Utah. I turned over my interest in the center in Chapel Hill and returned to Utah just before the 2002 Olympics. My integrative private practice, Wellspring Physical Therapy, is located in Midway.

School Story:

I’m amazed at how enduring some of my high school friendships have been. A few of us still get together for an annual girlfriend’s weekend get away.

Rick and I ran into each other at the Park City Arts Festival around 2002, shortly after I relocated back to Utah. As he and my sister were chatting, we realized we had both graduated from PHS, class of ’79. When we said our names, the connection went all the way back to elementary school. Since then, a circle of friends has enjoyed concerts and skiing together. Rick had beautiful ski form especially in the bumps. He talked often of his children and grandchildren. The memorial service was a nice tribute to him. Our hearts go out to family and friends. We will all miss him. The ski season won’t be the same without him.

We taught Zack to ski at Deer Valley. It may have been a bad idea but it turned out good.
