School Story:

I recall an exam on Hamlet in Miss Nelson's English class. The question read, "Name three pieces of advice Polonius gives his son Laertes." Kip Clark's answers were:
1. To thine own self be true.
2. Neither a lender nor borrower be.
3. Do what is right, let the consequence follow.

He received 2 out of a possible 3 points. He received no points for the following response to the fill-in-the-blank question, "Hamlet called the world an ________________________."
The correct answer was "An unweeded garden."
Kip's answer? "An avacado."
